I'm making an article about this cause the fun and the sensation of searching for spots on sunday afternoons is just amazing. Even at locations like these you can find them, but that's not the the point on these sites, it's the feeling you get. It's like you travel back into time! This old industrial site used to be a very large steel industry in Belgium and used to be a state of the art modern construction. Fascinating if you're in the same business, even normal people who don't even realise what this is are amazed by the size of it !

Last week some people lost their sponsor or even their job
06 shop and pop magazine both went down by declaring bankrupt

Pop magazine had some financial problems when the main advertiser stopped the cooperation.
they are going to make a new mag together with SCS mag

I don't exactly know what happened to the 06 shop, people told me the shop owner didn't want to proceed cause of some bad times, new cheaper shops etc etc

[noki ] Ce sont des personnes proches de nous qui se retrouvent du jour au lendemain sans travail et pourtant bizarrement la conjecture du skateboard n'a pourtant jamais été aussi luxueuse et rentable. Nous sommes tous prêts a débourser 80€ pour une planches et les "kids" n'ont jamais été si nombreux.
Je ne suis pas sur que "bankrupt" soit le mot à utiliser pour donner une raison à la fermeture d'un magasin ou d'un magazine, par contre lorsqu'une personne extérieure au skateboard investit en pensant faire du chiffre ... il se rend rapidement compte que le skateboard n'est pas aussi rentable qu'on le pense puis sort discrètement du jeux.

looking for spots is the best part, you're really motivated while driving around industrial area's with your eyes wide open. every stair, rail, sidewalk, bump, waved concrete or anything else matters. Driving back home from work or school taking a different route and hope you're gonna find something. it's one of the greatest things about skateboarding, looking for the unknown. We, skaters, have a different kind of view. an important and artistic one.


from a 100m down low it looked like a huge ditch but when we got up there it was all filled up and became a giant nature box.
it looks like copper thiefs also visited this site.

and apparently it's been there for already 4 years during to google earth's photos.



don't steal or break shit, cause skaters who do, are fucking up the sport i love ! respect the spot and it will respect you.

and keep in mind there's always a chance you're not alone... at least we weren't !

the guy below already has a nice amount of hospital visits on his name, i remember last year he got himself in the hospital after he slipped out on his flip bs tail and the iron cooping from the fucked up manny box cut into his leg for 10cm long straight to the bone. his leg always had blood on it since then. he's also my homie and today we felt like we needed to skate again cause it already have been a while. Sunday afternoon, like usually.. getting sober again and trying to find out what your gonna do for the rest of the day. while the whole city was unskateable by the fucked up weather of the last few days we drove to a local wooden spot who was pretty dry, fooled again. he slipped out and his board slammed on his leg and cut open again and a few hours later stive tried the same spot and slipped out and landed on his side and got a dislocated wrist.

got pretty down for a long time when all my shit got broken and couldn't find any motivation but now i just got my license and car as well so i'm all into skateboard photography again! a lot of shoots comin up, motivation 200% and ready for some new skate adventures.

L’exploration est une activité primordiale dans le skate. Savoir pousser en switch est une chose mais trouver un nouveau spot [pas forcement en marbre lisse] et savoir l’utiliser en est une autre.
Ce week end là, nous étions partis pour skater des spots plus ou moins connus puis est venu le moment ou lassé de mettre les mêmes lines nous sommes partis chercher un nouveau spot ...
Cette maison, sûrement abandonné, a toute de suite était une bonne piste pour trouver ce spot éphémère que nous recherchons tous secrètement pour poser se nouveau tricks appris tardivement un soir d’été ...
Hélas ... En vain nous avons essayé d’y rentrer mais même avec l’aide de cette précieuse échelle, la maison était close.

Ce n’est que partie remise, je suis sur que LE spot arrivera.

Like i promised a few weeks back team pain is working on a new project in Antwerp, 3 times as big as kortrijk and the first full pipe in Belgium.
I talked them at the concrete or die event in kortrijk and if everything goes as planned it should be finished in a month. I found some recent photos on the brusk forum check it out

steve job's keynote was once and again truly amazing, i love to see his presentations, everytime the world goes crazy when he's flippin his big size screen to the new apple product, this time it was the new generation of the ipod and itunes, from now on you can make and buy ringtones on itunes for your future iPhone which should be in stores in Europe around november i guess and cruise through your albums with cover flow. the ipod shuffle didn't really changed.. only some new colors but the ipod nano aka best music player ever sold got a serious makeover. Apple asked some reactions of the ipod nano users and they all said the same thing: video! so apple has produced one of the first high res 2 inch Lcd-display with blue-white led lighting and a resolution of 320x240 on 204ppi so you can watch your favorite videos on ipod nano too! it comes in 2 versions: the 4gb version goes for a €149 and the 8gb version goes for a €199. But when apple does something new it's always something big, the new ipod 'classic' is what they call the normal sized one is now upgraded to a 80gb standard €249 and a 160gb big version €349 also pimped with cover flow. fuck yeah 40 000 songs in your pocket everyday feels nice i guess.
But when apple announced the iPhone they said it was the best ipod they ever made, so by making these new ones shouldn't they be rocking the world with some even nicer ones? yes they are!
ipod Touch comes in stores too! it's a multi functional ipod that comes with wifi to browse on the internet with safari. the touchpanel is amazing as you know the iphone which is practically the same design and electronics but only thinner. only this one isn't that big, only 8gb for a €299 and 16gb for €399.
Also worth to mention is that you can now help the aids thing by buying a red version. earlier this year you could only do this with the ipod nano but now every ipod (exept the ipod touch) comes in a red version to support the people who are working on it.

today is about to become a day in history
collectif BRUSK did it again, after building the famous park at the square in bxl they started a new project in May 2007 to make the 2nd concrete skatepark in Wallonie aka the french part of belgium. many plans had been put on the table but the final result should be pretty pleased by the all round skater. official opening planned today!

BRUSK vient de commencer la construction d'un skatepark à Namur. Le premier skatepark en béton de Wallonie (mis à part le snakerun de Cointe, qui date quand même de 1979...).

Summer vacation means a lot of traveling for some of us. Contest prize money takes over europe in events like king of wood, bowlriders, amsterdamn Am, wsr, basel,...
Last weekend the world championship skateboarding took place in rotterdam but most of the prize money crossed over the atlantic towards the usa flip team riders arto saari and rune glifberg took first place in street and vert and slap photographer joe brook went home with a 8000$ cheque by winning the photo contest
